RESOLUTION NO.                                            

Title

A resolution approving and authorizing a change to the designated Authorized Representative for the Corporation for National and Community Services (CNCS) for Retired Seniors Volunteer Program of the River Parishes RSVP.

Body

WHEREAS,                     the River Parishes RSVP provides volunteer opportunities for persons age 55 and older at various service organizations throughout St. Charles Parish, St. James Parish, and St. John the Baptist Parish; and,

WHEREAS,                     an application was submitted and approved by the CNCS for the FY 2020 funding cycle; and,

WHEREAS,                     as a requirement of the program, the application and any subsequent amendments must be submitted by a representative of the sponsor who is authorized by its governing body; and,

WHEREAS,                     in September of 2019 Executive Director of Community Affairs, Dwayne LaGrange, was designated as the Authorized Representative via Resolution No. 6435; and,

WHEREAS,                     on January 13, 2020 a new Parish Administration was sworn-into office; and,

WHEREAS,                     St. Charles Parish was informed by CNCS that its application was successful in February of 2020, and due to the change in Parish Administration, a new Authorized Representative would have to be named; and,

WHEREAS,                     the Parish administration designates Darrin Duhe, Chief Operating Officer, as the CNCS RSVP Authorized Representative; and,

WHEREAS,                     the Parish Council is in support of this designation.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, hereby approve Darrin Duhe, Chief Operating Officer, as the CNCS RSVP Authorized Representative and is hereby authorized to act on behalf of St. Charles Parish in all matters pertaining to this grant award.

The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:

 

 

 

 

And the resolution was declared adopted this             day of                     , 2020, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
