IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Mrs. Jamie Treuting and her husband Jack are residents of Destrehan Louisiana in St. Charles Parish and are the proud parents of six children; Jack, Erica, Jamie Beth, Kurt, Catherine, and Drew; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Treuting is very family oriented, enjoys traveling in the summer with her husband and family, likes to play tennis when she has time but her joy in life is sharing special times with her grandson Alex; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Treuting is a graduate of UNO, teaching Math, English & Social Studies in the St. Charles Parish School System for 14 years; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to receiving the National Presidential Award for Math 2002-2003, which she received in March 2003 in Washington, she has received the 2002 Disney Teacher of the Year Award, St. Charles Parish District and Regional Teacher of the Year for 2002-2003, and Louisiana Math Teacher of the Year 2003; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Treuting attended very rigorous classes for qualification as a National Board Certified Teacher, of which she is one of fourteen in the State of Louisiana, giving her the qualifications to teach anywhere in the Country; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Treuting wrote a $20,000 grant for St. Charles Parish, which allows the School System to select candidates for National Board Certification. She was also a Member of the Interview Committee; and,
WHEREAS, in her spare time Mrs. Treuting is attending Graduate School at UNO through the Aspiring Leaders Program. She is working toward her Masters in Administration and Leadership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
JAMIE TREUTING
2002-2003 NATIONAL PRESIDENTIAL AWARD FOR MATH
