Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Contract with Waste Management of Louisiana, LLC for Solid Waste Collection Services in St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council has recognized the need to continue its Solid Waste Management Program to promote, protect and preserve the general welfare, safety and health of the citizens of St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Resolution No. 4843 on September 18, 2000, which approved the Contract Documents and specifications for Solid Waste Collection for St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council, through Resolution No. 4843, authorized the St. Charles Parish Council Contract/Finance and Administrative Committee to advertise for Proposals and to issue any Addenda as it deems necessary to the specifications; and,
WHEREAS, Sealed Proposals were received at 10:00 A.M. on October 13, 2000; and,
WHEREAS, the Proposal of Waste Management of Louisiana, LLC for Solid Waste Collection for the Parish of St. Charles is the lowest proposal and is in the best interest of the Parish.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Proposal of Waste Management of Louisiana, LLC submitted on October 13, 2000, as supplemented by letter dated November 14, 2000, for Solid Waste Collection in St. Charles Parish Exhibit "C" Base Proposal (A.1) be and is hereby accepted.
SECTION II. That the contract documents noted as Resolution No. 4843, Exhibit A, Exhibit B, Exhibit C, and Exhibit D along with Addendum #1 issued October 4, 2000, and the Memorandum of Understanding are hereby deemed to be the Solid Waste Collection Contract.
SECTION III. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Contract and Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of St. Charles Parish.

The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this _________ day of ___________________, 2001, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
