 IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Mr. Steve Wilson has been a resident of St. Charles Parish for over 25 years and presently lives in Destrehan, La.  He has two children, Kaci and Zachary and one beautiful granddaughter Kynzi; and,
WHEREAS,      Mr. Wilson is currently employed by Shell/Motiva in Norco, Louisiana for the past 20 years and currently holds the position of Environmental Assurance Coordinator; and,
WHEREAS,      Mr. Wilson is certified in LaDEQ Waste handling and permitting, Environmental Planning and Permitting, Land Use Planning, ISO14001 Implementation Certification, and Risk Management; and,
WHEREAS,      Mr. Wilson has served and represented the residents in numerous capacities both within the Parish and for the State of Louisiana.  From 1990 to 2001, he served as Commissioner on the St. Charles Parish Planning Commission and was the first Commissioner member of the American Planning Association in Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS,      after serving four years as Commissioner At Large to the Board, Mr. Wilson became President of the Ponchartrain Levee District Board of Commissioners, the position he still presently holds representing six Parishes on the East Bank of the Mississippi River; East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Ascension, St. James, St. John the Baptist, and St. Charles; and,
WHEREAS,      Mr. Wilson was nominated and chosen again to serve as the 2012 President of the Association of Levee Boards of Louisiana, representing all 26 Levee Districts throughout the State; a position he has held for the last two years and he is also serving his fourth appointment to the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority; and,
WHEREAS,      Mr. Wilson was the guiding force in the completion of the Bayou Trepagnier Pump Station in Norco, and the Cross Bayou Pump Station in Destrehan; and,
WHEREAS,      Mr. Wilson has enjoyed the work he has accomplished thus far with an encouraging outlook for the future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
MR. STEVE WILSON
for his outstanding dedication to St. Charles Parish
