An ordinance to provide that all Parish owned, leased, or rented public buildings shall be maintained and equipped.

WHEREAS, it is important to properly maintain and operate all public facilities to:
· protect the public's investment in public buildings
· assist the citizens of St. Charles Parish in conducting their business with local and state agencies housed in public buildings
· protect the overall health and well-being of public employees
· provide space for state agencies providing public services in local government buildings
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the following facilities shall be maintained and equipped as described below:
Office of Motor Vehicles
Chairs - $3200.00 - no shipping charges
15 waiting room - Prison Enterprises, Dakota $97.00 ea. = $1500.00
5 -guests - Prison Enterprises, Dakota $97.00 ea. = $500.00
6 secretary chairs - Prison Enterprises, Sapphire $185.31 ea. = $1200.00
Blinds (3) - $560.00
2 - 5'10"W x 9'6"H
1 - 1'5½"W x 9'6"H
Southern Carpet, Hunter Douglas, Decor, 8 gauge heavy duty Alum.
$234.38, $87.00 = total $555.76
Rugs to protect carpet and floor - $120.000 Annual Rental
A-1 Service - SCP 3x5 - changed out 2x/mo. = $10.00/mo. = $120.00
Plain 3x5 - changed out 2x/mo. = $3.75/mo.
Plain 4x6 - changed out 2x/mo. = $4.75/mo.
Spring water - $513.00
Kentwood - $10.00/mo. for service (x12 = $120.00), $6.55 per 5 gallon jug
(x5 = $32.75 x 12 = $393.00), and $5.00 refundable deposit on each bottle
Westbank Maintenance Yard Building (Superintendent's Office)
1. Need a janitor at least once a week.
2. Need to fix their antenna it is leaning.
3. Need an outside lady's restroom for women laborers.
Eastbank Maintenance Yard Building (Superintendent's Office)
Building & Yard Repairs Needed
1. Roof repairs on Drainage Shop/Offices are needed.
2. Roof repairs on Mechanic Shop and 3 overhead garage doors replaced
3. 2 Exterior doors need to be replaced in offices.
Routine Maintenance Performed By Outside Contractors
Current Janitorial Service for Offices is terrible, comes only once a week (Friday or Saturday) please replace with service that comes daily and cleans better.
Courthouse
1. Remove spots from office carpet.
2. Repair ceiling tile in the first floor ladies restroom.
3. Blow cut grass and trash from the front ramp of the Courthouse also from sidewalks grass is cut.
4. Put paper toilet seat covers in all ladies restrooms.
5. Install railings on Courthouse stairs
6. Do paint touch-ups on doors, walls, etc.
7. Install decent benches outside of the Courthouse for smokers and other sitters.
8. Lock on bathroom door in Finance Department, then remove other door inside bathroom
9. Cabinet to store things in employees restrooms
10. 2nd Floor ladies restroom - clean and paint
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby provide that all Parish owned, leased, or rented public buildings shall be maintained and equipped.
