RESOLUTION NO. __________

Title

A resolution requesting the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to review and study the area on LA Highway 3127 and South Fashion Boulevard in Hahnville for the installation of a turn lane to protect the residents.

Body

WHEREAS,      Highway 3127 is a very heavily traveled roadway used by both industry and residents; and,

WHEREAS,      with the continued growth in Fashion Plantation Phase II Subdivision, the number of vehicles entering and exiting of residents, students, buses, and contractors has increased; and,

WHEREAS,      in addition to vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed, said roadway is poorly lighted adding an additional hazard; and,

WHEREAS,      Highway 3127 is also used as an evacuation route.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to review and study the area on LA Highway 3127 and South Fashion Boulevard, in Hahnville for the installation of a turn lane to protect the residents.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be forwarded to Governor Bobby Jindal, Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr., and Representative Ernest D. Wooton.
