Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of an Amendment to the Contract for Engineering Services with ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING SERVICES (EES), INC. for necessary professional engineering services associated with Parish Project No. S080503 High Priority Sewer Lift Station Upgrades.
Body
WHEREAS,      On October 20, 2008 the St. Charles Parish Council approved Ordinace No. 08-10-10 athorizing the execution of a Contract for Engineering Services with ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING SERVICES (EES), INC. for Parish Project No. S080503 High Priority Sewer Lift Station Upgrades. and;
WHEREAS,      Recent events and communications with Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) and Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (LDHH) has caused the Department of Wastewater to re-evaluate the list of lift stations listed in the contract, and;
WHEREAS,      it is necessary to amend the contract and change some of the lift stations as they have become a higher priority than those listed currently in the contract.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
      SECTION I.      That the contract for Engineering Services between ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING SERVICES(EES), INC. and the Parish of St. Charles is hereby amended as follows:
 
Section 2.1.2 (Currently)
Residential growth on the west bank has increased flows to a majority of the sewage lift stations to a point of reaching their maximum capacity. These eight stations have been determined to be high priority, and require upgrades such as larger pumps, new transmission lines, and back up pumps.  Upgrading these stations will also prevent overflow events at peak flows.
 
Each lift station upgrade will be conducted under separate task orders.
 
·      Magnolia Ridge lift station
·      Ama lift station
·      St John St lift Station
·      Holder lift station and transmission line
·      Bosco lift station and transmission line
·      Marino lift station
·      Hwy 306 lift stations. Matherne & Canal LS and transmission line, and Pine St lift station
 
Section 2.1.2 (Amended)
Residential growth on the west bank has increased flows to a majority of the sewage lift stations to a point of reaching their maximum capacity. Each lift station and force main determined to be a high priority shall comply with all requirements of Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (LDHH) and LDEQ regulations. Upgrading these stations will also prevent overflow events at peak flows.
 
Each lift station upgrade will be conducted under separate task orders.

·      Bosco lift station and transmission line
·      Monsanto lift station
·      Monsanto Park Lift Station
 
      SECTION II.      That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said amendment on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles.
