Title
A resolution requesting a drainage study of the Town of Montz in St. Charles Parish and take the required necessary steps to address the findings.
Body
WHEREAS, with the rapid expansions in the Town of Montz, drainage has become a major issue; and,
WHEREAS, from 2002 to 2008, Evangeline City, Country Cottage Estates, and Evangeline Estates Subdivision each with several Phases have had Acts of Dedication accepted without the benefits of a major drainage study for the Town of Montz; and,
WHEREAS, the Town of Montz has a gravity flow drainage system and during rain events flooding occurs on Evangeline Road, part of the River Road with the coulee overflowing its banks from River Road through Thoroughbred Avenue, under Evangeline Road to Highway 61; and,
WHEREAS, as Councilmember for District VI, I would like the support of the Council in obtaining a drainage study to review the flooding in the Town of Montz and provide recommendations of steps which can be taken to solve the problem.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request a drainage study of the Town of Montz in St. Charles Parish and take the required necessary steps to address the findings.
