Title

An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a contract with Max Foote Construction, for project S080502-1 Hahnville Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Secondary Wet Well, H₂S System, and Headworks Improvements in the amount of $1,347,000.00.

Body

WHEREAS,      sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on October 28, 2010 for project S080502-1 Hahnville Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Secondary Wet Well, H₂S System, and Headworks Improvements; and,

WHEREAS,      CH2MHILL, the Engineer for the Project, has reviewed the bids and recommend that the Contract be awarded to the low bidder, Max Foote Construction in the amount of $1,347,000.00; and,

WHEREAS,      this project will install a new secondary wet well that will allow routine inspection and repair of the existing primary wet well along with a new H₂S control system that will prevent premature failure of all concrete protective linings; and,

WHEREAS,      the Hahnville Wastewater Treatment Plant services a large part of the West Bank of St. Charles Parish, installation of this project will enhance plant equipment maintainability and longevity.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

      SECTION I.      That the bid of Max Foote Construction, for project S080502-1 Hahnville Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Secondary Wet Well, H₂S System, and Headworks Improvements, be hereby approved and accepted, in the amount of $1,347,000.00.

      SECTION II.      That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said contract documents on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
