RESOLUTION NO.      5770        

Title

A resolution requesting the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to review, study, budget, and install a right turning lane on Barton Avenue (LA 3060) onto Highway 90 to protect the residents and those traveling through the area and to improve traffic flow.

Body

WHEREAS,      LA 3060 is a very heavily traveled roadway used by industry, residents, and school buses; and,

WHEREAS,      LA 3060 is a direct connection used as an evacuation route from LA 18 to Highway 90; and,

WHEREAS,      that a right turning lane onto Highway 90 will improve the traffic flow and decrease congestion in the area.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development review study, budget, and install a right turning lane on Barton Avenue (LA 3060) onto Highway 90 to protect the residents and those traveling through the area.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be forwarded to Governor Bobby Jindal, Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr., Representative Ernest D. Wooton, Department of Transportation & Development Secretary Sherri LeBas, and Department of Transportation & Development District Administrator Mike Stack asking their assistance in this regard.
