Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a Construction Manager at Risk, herein after referred to as “CMAR”, Contract with Woodward Design + Build, LLC, for the construction of Hahnville Branch Library Construction Project, in the amount of $9,040,972.00.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 24-5-4 adopted on May 6, 2024, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with Grace Hebert Curtis Architects, LLC, to perform architectural services for a St. Charles Parish Library Hahnville Branch, in the amount not to exceed $387,941.00; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish in conjunction with the St. Charles Parish Library opted for the CMAR approach to design and construct the Hahnville Branch Library Construction Project as a cost and time saving benefit to St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, on April 1, 2025, St. Charles Parish in conjunction with the St. Charles Parish Library accepted Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) for potential CMAR Contractors and selected Woodward Design + Build, LLC, as the desired CMAR Contractor; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 25-6-3 adopted on June 2, 2025, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) Pre-Construction Services Agreement (Contract) with Woodward Design + Build, LLC, for the Hahnville Branch Library Construction Project, in the amount of $1,550,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish in conjunction with the St. Charles Parish Library and Woodward Design + Build, LLC, have agreed upon a Guaranteed Maximum Price of $9,040,972.00 to complete the construction of the Hahnville Branch Library Construction Project.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Guaranteed Maximum Price of Woodward Design + Build, LLC, for the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) Contract of Hahnville Branch Library Construction Project is hereby approved and accepted in the amount of $9,040,972.00.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Contract on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
SECTION III. A final Notice of Contract shall be printed and filed in place of the contract documents with the St. Charles Parish Clerk of Court and in the records of the St. Charles Parish Council.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
