IN   RECOGNITION
WHEREAS,      Reverend Bernard C. Francis is a resident of Hahnville, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish and Pastor of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville; and,
WHEREAS,      Reverend Francis, a native of Haverhill, Massachusetts, is the son of the late Bernard Sr. and Mildred Francis and is one of 12 children; and,
WHEREAS,      Reverend Francis recently celebrated the 50th Anniversary of his enlistment in the U. S. Navy serving aboard the USS Daly DD519 and serving his Country in the Korean War; and,
WHEREAS,      Reverend Francis was ordained on March 1, 1969, in New Orleans at St. Louis Cathedral; and,
WHEREAS,      before coming to Hahnville, Reverend Francis served as Assistant Pastor at Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Raphael the Archangel, and Our Lady of Good Counsel as well as Chaplin at Touro Infirmary; and,
WHEREAS,      Reverend Francis came to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville on November 17, 1979, as Pastor and will celebrate his 25th Anniversary this year; and,
WHEREAS,      in 1987 and 1990 Reverend Francis was one of 30 Priests chosen world-wide to study in Rome at the ICTE North American College, Vatican City, Italy; and,
WHEREAS,      Reverend Francis served as the West Bank St. Charles and St. John Deanery for the Archdioceses long-range planning project "Goals 2000"; and,
WHEREAS,      in his years as Pastor, Reverend Francis has completed several renovations at the Church which include:  marble work, wood-work repairs, stain glass windows, numerous statues added, a new roof, and a new parking lot.  His hobbies are fishing and swimming.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
REVEREND BERNARD C. FRANCIS
25TH ANNIVERSARY
PASTOR, OUR LADY OF THE
MOST HOLY ROSARY
CATHOLIC CHURCH
