IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Reverend Isiah Franklin, Jr., a resident of Hahnville, Louisiana, lives with his wife of 50 years, Ella F. Franklin and has 3 children and 5 grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Franklin is a native of Hahnville, born January 26, 1941, to the late Ruth Franklin and Isiah Franklin, Sr. He attended public schools in St. Charles Parish in his childhood years; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Franklin was exposed to the love of God at an early age. He received the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 12 at Philadelphia Baptist Church. He accepted the Lord's call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in September 1975. He received his missionary license in 1976 and preaching license in 1977. He was a missionary preacher for the district for many years; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Franklin attended Christian Bible College of LA where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Theology in 1977; his Master's Degree in Theology in 1981; and his Doctorate of Theology in 1987. He later became an instructor at Christian Bible College and taught for 3 years. He had a passion for his fellowman to know God and His Word. In 1980, no churches in the Hahnville area were having Bible Class, so he started Community Bible Class at the Odd-fellows Hall in Hahnville for several years with people coming from Hahnville, and surrounding communities; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Franklin is widely recognized as a Man of God. His teaching and preaching has made an impact in St. Charles Parish and the surrounding areas. He has been instrumental in leading many to Christ. He believes that "With God All Things Are Possible." Whenever he is asked a question, he refers to the Word of God; and,
WHEREAS, Reverend Franklin has been pastoring for 35 years at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in St. Rose; to date, he has been preaching for 40 years. His greatest desire is that of ministering to the youth, compelling the lost, and impacting the saints through the word of God so that they will ultimately be conformed to the image of Christ.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
REVEREND ISIAH FRANKLIN, JR.
35TH ANNIVERSARY & 74TH BIRTHDAY
