Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Contract for Engineering Services  between Schantz Engineering, LLC, and St. Charles Parish to provide engineering services for the Courthouse HVAC Retrofit project in the implementation of the Parish's Renew Louisiana Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program.
Body
WHEREAS,      the Parish intends to implement its Renew Louisiana Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program, which involves the planning, programming, application, award, and implementation of the Courthouse HVAC Retrofit project in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing the expenditure of the Parish's $353,000.00 in EECBG funding; and,
WHEREAS,      said funding was appropriated in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, Public Law 111-5 and therefore, the Parish is required to meet stringent deadlines to implement said program or risk loss of said funding; and,
WHEREAS,      the Parish desires to engage Schantz Engineering, LLC, to provide engineering services for the Courthouse HVAC Retrofit project in the implementation of the Parish's Renew Louisiana EECBG Program; and,
WHEREAS,      it is the desire of the Parish and Schantz Engineering, LLC, to enter into an agreement for said services.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I.      That the Contract for Engineering Services between Schantz Engineering, LLC, and St. Charles Parish is hereby approved.
SECTION II.      That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Contract For Engineering Services on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
