Title
A resolution approving and authorizing the Parish President to submit an application requesting grant funds from the Delta Regional Authority States’ Economic Development Assistance Program for Phase 2 - Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad Culvert Crossing of the Fairfield and Oakland Conveyance Improvements Project in the amount of $500,000.00.

WHEREAS, the Fairfield and Oakland Conveyance Improvements Project is a multi-phase drainage infrastructure project designed to improve stormwater conveyance, reduce flood risk, and increase the resiliency of the Fairfield and Oakland subdivisions; and,
WHEREAS, Phase 2 of the project consists of the installation of three (3) 42-inch drainage crossings beneath the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad and has an estimated construction cost of $3,253,575.00; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish is requesting $500,000.00 in Delta Regional Authority States' Economic Development Assistance Program funding to be applied towards the construction costs for Phase 2 of the project; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish is applying for this grant in addition to the $9,230,000.00 in funding from the Louisiana Watershed Initiative - Round 2 for the Fairfield and Oakland Conveyance Improvements Project, and the remaining project costs to be provided through the Parish's required local match; and,
WHEREAS, the Delta Regional Authority application requires a resolution of support from the local governing body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve and authorize the submission of an application to Delta Regional Authority States’ Economic Development Assistance Program for Phase 2 - Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad Culvert Crossing of the Fairfield and Oakland Conveyance Improvements Project in the amount of $500,000.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said application and to act on behalf of St. Charles Parish in all matters pertaining to this project and subsequent grant award.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
