Title

An ordinance to amend the St Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Chapter 17 Parks and Recreation, Article III. Edward A. Dufresne Community Center, Section 17-24. Special Provisions. (a) (3), to change the insurance requirements at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center.

Body

WHEREAS,                     the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center was built to serve the residents of the Parish; and,

WHEREAS,                     it is the desire of the St. Charles Parish Council to revise the insurance requirements for use of the facility; and,

WHEREAS,                     policies and procedures have been established for the safe and sustainable operation of the Center.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

                     SECTION I.                     That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 17 Parks and Recreation, Article III. Edward A. Dufresne Community Center, Section 17-24. Special Provisions. (a) (3), to be amended to read as follows:

ARTICLE III.                     EDWARD A. DUFRESNE COMMUNITY CENTER

Section 17-24.                     Special Provisions.

(a)                     Following is a list of general policies for each private function:

(3)                     Proof of insurance is required in the form of an original general liability certificate evidencing comprehensive liability and property damage with coverage of at least one million dollars ($1,000,000) for the gymnasium/hall and parking lot and at least five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for the Meeting Room Wing and Main Lobby, with a combined single limit on a per occurrence basis, issued by a company, that has an AM Best Rating of VI or higher, licensed to provide such coverage in the State of Louisiana, and naming St. Charles Parish as Certificate Holder and named as additionally insured with a 30-day notice of cancellation.

The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:

And the ordinance was declared adopted this ______ day of ___________, 2015, to become effective (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
