ORDINANCE NO. __________

Title

An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a contract with Angelo Iafrate Construction, LLC, for the construction of Project P000801, Road Overlay 2000 - 2001, in the amount of $1,146,632.87.

Body

WHEREAS,      sealed bids were received by the Parish on June 1, 2001 for Road Overlay 2000 - 2001; and,

WHEREAS,      Shread-Kuyrkendall & Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers for the Project, have reviewed the bids and recommend that the Contract be awarded to the low bidder, Angelo Iafrate Construction, LLC, in the amount of $844,744.37.

WHEREAS,      due to the fact that the Base Bid was under the projected construction cost estimate, Shread-Kuyrkendall & Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers for the Project, recommends Alternate 1 be awarded in the amount of $128,261.50.

WHEREAS,      due to the fact that the Base Bid was under the projected construction cost estimate, Shread-Kuyrkendall & Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers for the Project, recommends Alternate 2 be awarded in the amount of $173,627.00.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

      SECTION I.      That the bid of Angelo Iafrate Construction, LLC, for the construction of, Project P000801, Road Overlay 2000 - 2001, be and hereby accepted in the amount of $1,146,632.87.

      SECTION II.      That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute the attached contract documents.
