Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a Contract with Kass Bros, Inc., for the Kinler and Paul Fredrick Roadway and Drainage Improvements Phase I (Project No. P210704), in the amount of $728,906.00.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 22-1-2 adopted on January 10, 2022, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with EJES Inc., to perform engineering services for Kinler and Paul Frederick Roadway and Drainage Improvements Project No. P210704, not exceed $385,955.00; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 25-2-1 adopted on February 10, 2025, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of Amendment No. 1 to Ordinance No. 22-1-2, which approved a Professional Services Agreement with EJES Inc., to perform engineering services for Kinler and Paul Frederick Roadway and Drainage Improvements (Project No. P210704), in the amount not to exceed $358,896.00, increasing the overall contract amount to $744,851.00; and,
WHEREAS, Paul Fredrick Roadway, since its dedication, has at times been referred to as Paul Fredrick, and/or Paul Frederick, and /or Paul Fredericks; and
WHEREAS, the Contract for the construction of Kinler and Paul Fredrick Roadway and Drainage Improvements Phase I (Project No. P210704) interchangeably refers to Paul Fredrick, and/or Paul Frederick, and /or Paul Fredericks; and,
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on June 2, 2026, for the Kinler and Paul Fredrick Roadway and Drainage Improvements Phase I (Project No. P210704); and,
WHEREAS, EJES, Inc., has reviewed the bids and recommends that the Contract be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Kass Bros, Inc., in the amount of $728,906.00.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the bid of Kass Bros, Inc., for the construction of Kinler and Paul Fredrick Roadway and Drainage Improvements Phase I (Project No. P210704), is hereby approved and accepted in the amount of $728,906.00.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Contract on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
SECTION III. A final Notice of Contract shall be printed and filed in place of the contract documents with the St. Charles Parish Clerk of Court and in the records of the St. Charles Parish Council.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
