IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Renee Pollet Buchanon, the daughter of Petty and Peter Pollet, is a resident of St. James Parish residing in Paulina, Louisiana with her husband Daryl C. Buchanon. They are the proud parents to five children: Seth, Kayleigh, Gavin, Liam and Connor; and,
WHEREAS, Renee is a graduate of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux and is employed with Enlink Midstream as a Liquid Measurement Analyst; and,
WHEREAS, Renee is the mother to a special needs child, an advocate for Congenital CMV, and director for Miss St. James Parish; she has traveled all over south Louisiana in grassroots efforts for political organizations; and,
WHEREAS, Renee’s future plans include raising her children to follow their dreams and bring awareness to special needs; and,
WHEREAS, on August 9, 2015, Renee was crowned the 5th Ms. Queen in the annual Festival of Charities Pageant held at the American Legion Hall in St. Rose, and she also received the People’s Choice and Fashion Awards; and,
WHEREAS, the Festival of Charities is a non-profit organization that started in October 2007, which benefits the Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans and other charitable organizations; and,
WHEREAS, as Ms. Queen, Renee will represent the Festival of Charities as she will travel the State of Louisiana visiting local and parish events raising awareness of Down Syndrome; sharing the mission statement that everyone is special.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
