Title

A resolution requesting the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development to install “Advanced Warning Flashers” next to the east bound lane of Highway 90 before the traffic signal at WPA Road (Hwy. 632) in Des Allemands.

Body

WHEREAS,                     Highway 90 is a very heavily traveled roadway; and,

WHEREAS,                     traveling east bound from Lafourche Parish, there exist the potential for vehicles, especially large trucks, to travel this area at a high rate of speed making it difficult to stop without prior warning; and,

WHEREAS,                     school buses and other vehicular traffic are placed in danger due to drivers not knowing that they are approaching a traffic signal at Hwy. 632.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development to install “Advanced Warning Flashers” next to the east bound lane of Highway 90 before the traffic signal at WPA Road (Hwy. 632) in Des Allemands.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation & Development Secretary Dr. Shawn D. Wilson, Department of Transportation & Development District Engineer Administrator Chris G. Morvant, Department of Transportation & Development Assistant District Administrator of Operations Scott G. Boyle, Department of Transportation & Development West Bank Area Engineer Nelson Capote, Senator Gary L. Smith, Jr., and Representative Gregory Miller asking for their assistance in this regard.

The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
