IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Pastor Gerald L. Vinnett, Sr., is the son of the late Norman Vinnett, Sr., and Victoria Peters Vinnett. He is the seventh of ten children; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Vinnett is married to Janet Montgomery Vinnett. He is the proud father of Gerald, Jr., married to Yasmin, Jasper Lamar, married to Celeste, and Jairus LeVon, and the very proud grandfather of Grayson, Jaxsyn, and Jordyn Vinnett; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Vinnett accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized by the late Reverend B. J. Robinson on April 7, 1974; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Vinnett received his license to preach on September 26, 1974, and was ordained on September 17, 1978, by the late Reverend B. J. Robinson and the Jefferson Minister’s Alliance; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Vinnett received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Southern University in New Orleans, and a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Theology from Christian Bible College of Kenner; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Vinnett is a member of the Ministerial Alliance of New Orleans, the Christian Ministers’ Union of New Orleans, the National Baptist Convention USA, the Louisiana Missionary Baptist State Convention, President of the United Baptist Association, Inc., and has received several certifications in Expository Preaching from the E.K. Bailey Ministries of Dallas, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, Pastor Vinnett was installed as Pastor of the Fifth African Baptist Church in St. Rose on March 25, 1994. He is a servant of God and of the people. He has a passion for preaching and teaching the Word of God to others. He continues to make strides in the growth and development of his congregation; and,
WHEREAS, let us hold to the motto Pastor Vinnett established, Fifth African Baptist Church - “Where Jesus Christ is the Centered Attraction”.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT
