Title
A resolution to submit four nominees to New Orleans Mayor Mitchell J. Landrieu for consideration of appointment to the New Orleans Aviation Board representing St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS,      by virtue of an executive agreement signed by Mayor Ernest N. Morial dated August 30, 1985, and a subsequent formal agreement signed by the Mayor on October 17, 1985, St. Charles Parish is to be represented on the New Orleans Aviation Board; and,
WHEREAS,      there exists a vacancy due to the unexpired term of the late Mr. Henry A. Smith, Jr., the current appointment member of the Board serving as the St. Charles Parish Representative; and,
WHEREAS,      pursuant to the Home Rule Charter of the City of New Orleans, the Mayor of New Orleans is charged with appointing members of the New Orleans Aviation Board, subject to ratification by the City Council of New Orleans; and,
WHEREAS, in accordance with formal written correspondence received from New Orleans Mayor Mitchell J. Landrieu, the Mayor is requesting that the St. Charles Parish Council nominate four individuals, from which he shall choose one representative to serve on the New Orleans Aviation Board; and,
WHEREAS,      the St. Charles Parish Council is desirous of submitting the following four names as nominees, from which one will be selected to represent St. Charles Parish on the New Orleans Aviation Board:
Mr. Neal Clulee
Mr. Daniel J. Schexnaydre, Jr.
Mr. Richard Dufrene
Mr. Terry Authement
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby submit Mr. Neal Clulee; Mr. Daniel J. Schexnaydre, Jr.; Mr. Richard Dufrene; and Mr. Terry Authement as nominees to New Orleans Mayor Mitchell J. Landrieu for consideration of appointment to the New Orleans Aviation Board representing St. Charles Parish, from which one shall be selected to fill the unexpired term of the late Mr. Henry A. Smith, Jr., to begin immediately upon receipt of the required confirmation questionnaire and end July 1, 2012, and designated to a new five (5) year term to begin July 1, 2012 and end July 1, 2017.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Honorable Mitch Landrieu, Mayor of New Orleans, is hereby requested to appoint one of the four nominees submitted to serve as the St. Charles Parish representative on the New Orleans Aviation Board and the Honorable Members of the New Orleans City Council are hereby requested to confirm said appointment.
