Title

An ordinance to approve a Contract with Design Engineering, Inc. for Engineering, Environmental and Land Surveying Services for Almedia Road Improvements, St. Rose, State Project no. 700-45-0108, Federal Aid Project No. STP-4503 (502).

WHEREAS,      the Parish with assistance from the Department of Transportation and Development and the Federal Highway Administration proposes to make improvements along Almedia Road (LA50) at the intersection with River Road (LA48) and with Airline Drive (U.S.61) primarily by adding right turn lanes and upgrading the signalization at Airline Drive; and

WHEREAS,      the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Ordinance No. 03-4-15 on April 21, 2003 approving an Agreement with the Department of Transportation and Development, as amended by Ordinance No. 03-6-5, for the Almedia Road Improvements; and

WHEREAS,      said Agreement provided that the Department of Transportation and Development would advertise and select the consulting engineering firm and the Parish would enter into a contract, prepared by DOTD, for the performance of engineering services; and

WHEREAS,      the Department of Transportation and Development has provided the Contract with Design Engineering, Inc. for approval by the Parish Council.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION I.      That the Agreement by and between St. Charles Parish and Design Engineering, Inc. for State Project No. 700-45-0108, Federal Aid Project No. STP-4503 (502) Almedia Road Improvements Route LA50 is hereby approved.

SECTION II.      That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Contract on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
