RESOLUTION NO.           5136      
Title
A resolution strongly opposing the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Developments Alternative "W" and Alternative "T" presented in the I-49 South Project through St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS,      either proposals would disrupt and put an end to the semi-country living now enjoyed in St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS,      either of these proposals would lead to severe disruption of the lives of all the local residents; and,
WHEREAS,      all schools located in the proposed route would be gravely affected with traffic and safety issues; and,
WHEREAS,      either proposals would impact the current drainage infrastructure along with numerous traffic disruption.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby urge and request the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to reject Alternative "W" and Alternative "T" and review and present an Alternative that would preserve the existing standard of life for the residents of St. Charles Parish.  An Alternative that would be beneficial and economically feasible, would not disrupt the semi-country living, our drainage infrastructure nor present the Parish with numerous traffic disruptions.
