IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Lauren Michelle Watson is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Luling, Louisiana, with her parents Michael and Holly Watson, and brother Everett; and,
WHEREAS, Lauren is currently a Sophomore at Hahnville High School and after graduating, plans to attend Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge to major in pre-healthcare studies and minor in a branch of the performing arts. In the future, she plans to attend medical school to become a pediatric physician; and,
WHEREAS, Lauren earned Summa Cum Laude, Superintendent’s award, and the DOW award; she is 2nd Co-Captain of the Hahnville Hi-Steppers dance team, and a member of the Interact Club. Outside of school, she is a member of the Dance Unlimited Competition Team, where she won multiple adjudicated and overall awards, including National Overall Teen Soloist at Star Systems Nationals; and,
WHEREAS, Lauren helped plan, organize, and held multiple fundraisers for a young boy in St. Charles Parish battling Leukemia, and volunteered at the Alligator Festival; and,
WHEREAS, Lauren enjoys dancing, reading, acting, and writing and describes herself as driven, passionate, and outgoing; and,
WHEREAS, on Sunday, August 2, 2015, Lauren was crowned the 20th Teen Queen at the 57th Annual St. Charles Parish Festival Pageant held at Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Norco; and,
WHEREAS, Lauren will represent St. Charles Parish at several fairs and festivals throughout Louisiana.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
