Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Construction Contract with Sealevel Construction, Inc for Project No. P061102 Evangeline Rd Culverts - Phase 1 in the amount of $129,510.00.
Body
WHEREAS, the existing culverts under Evangeline Road are not adequate to provide storm water drainage for the Montz area, additional culverts under Evangeline Road will increase capacity of the storm water drainage system and reduce potential for flooding in the Montz area; and,
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on February 12, 2009 for Project No. P061102 Evangeline Rd Culverts - Phase 1; and,
WHEREAS, Meyer Engineers, LTD, the Engineer for the Project, has reviewed the bids and recommend that the Contract be awarded to the low bidder, Sealevel Construction, Inc., in the amount of $129,510.00; and,
WHEREAS, a clerical error is identified in Section 00500 "Agreement" under Article 7 "Contract Documents" in paragraph 7.6 and 7.7, the date is to be changed from October 10, 2008 to December 3, 2008 to reflect the accurate date on the Documents and Drawings referenced.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the bid of Sealevel Construction, Inc., for the construction of project S061102 Evangeline Rd Culverts - Phase 1, be hereby approved and accepted, in the amount of $129,510.00.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles.
SECTION III. That Section 00500 "Agreement" under Article 7 "Contract Documents" in paragraph 7.6 and 7.7, the date is to be changed from October 10, 2008 to December 3, 2008 to reflect the accurate date on the Documents and Drawings referenced.
