Title

An ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances, Parish of St. Charles, Chapter 13 Licenses, Taxation and Miscellaneous Business Regulations to repeal Article VIII. Purchases from Small Businesses establishing that the St. Charles Parish Purchasing Office designate and set aside certain procurement of goods and services for small businesses.

Body

WHEREAS,                     on September 6, 1988, Ordinance No. 88-9-12 was adopted by the St. Charles Parish Council which established a new chapter in the Code which provided that the St. Charles Parish Purchasing Office shall set aside for awarding to small businesses an amount not to exceed ten (10%) percent of the value of the anticipated total procurement of goods and services excluding construction; and,

WHEREAS,                     on March 8, 1993, Ordinance No. 93-3-3 was adopted by the St. Charles Parish Council which amended Ordinance No. 88-9-12 by, among other things, by providing a definition for “small businesses”; and,

WHEREAS,                     it is the desire of the Parish Council to amend the Code of Ordinances by repealing Article VIII.  Purchases from Small Businesses.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

                     SECTION I.                     That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 13 Licenses, Taxation and Miscellaneous Business Regulations is hereby amended by repealing Article VIII. Purchases from Small Businesses, Section 13-639., and Section 13-640 and replace with the following:

                                          Article VIII., Section 13-639 - 13-640 Reserved.

                     The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
