IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Riley Thomas Adams is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Luling, Louisiana with his parents Mark and Nan and his brother Mark Henry; and,
WHEREAS, Riley is an Order of the Arrow Member and Member of Troop 378, chartered by The Gretna United Methodist Church; and,
WHEREAS, Riley started his Scouting career as a nine-year old Bobcat, working his way through the ranks as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and finally an Eagle Scout; and,
WHEREAS, Riley has spent 11 years as an active member of the Scouts spending his time preparing to become an Eagle Scout; and,
WHEREAS, Riley has earned his 12 required merit badges and 20 elective badges from a list of 132 badges and completed his Eagle Scout Service Project by leading fellow students attending the Louisiana School of Math, Science and Arts in a food collection and providing the local Food Bank Center the ability to provide Thanksgiving meals for the underprivileged and needy in the city of Natchitoches; and,
WHEREAS, Riley earned these 32 required badges by showing leadership ability as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Scribe, Librarian, and Latrine Inspector; and,
WHEREAS, Riley rose to the rank of EAGLE SCOUT on February 17, 2007 and will receive his medal in a ceremony on November 10, 2007 at The Gretna United Methodist Church; and,
WHEREAS, Riley is a Freshman at Centenary College majoring in Political Science with a Minor in Foreign Languages. He will continue to grow as an Eagle Scout by keeping active in the Scouting Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
RILEY THOMAS ADAMS
