IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      on June 24, 2009, the bi-annual Waterford 3 Drill for Score Exercise evaluating the response to an emergency at Waterford 3 Nuclear Power Facility was held; and,
WHEREAS,      this exercise requires the participation of all Emergency Response Organizations in the Parish as well as many Public Employees throughout the Parish; and,
WHEREAS,      this exercise is federally evaluated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and is required in order to keep the Waterford 3 Nuclear Power Facility operational; and,
WHEREAS,      the evaluators found no area requiring corrective action or deficiencies, resulting in a perfect score; and,
WHEREAS,      the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness has maintained this level of competency throughout the past eight evaluated exercises since 1995.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
