Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a Wetlands Mitigation Agreement by and between St. Charles Parish and Delta Land Services, L.L.C., for wetlands mitigation for the Montz Pump Station (Parish Project No. P210301), Montz Pump Station No. 2 (Parish Project No. P210806) and drainage improvements along Highway 61 permitted under the Montz Pump Stations and Drainage Improvement Project in the amount of $175,800.00.
Body
WHEREAS, the community of Montz, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana has a history of drainage problems; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish is programmed to construct, operate, and maintain the Montz Pump Station and Drainage Modification Project to protect the property owners in the Montz community; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fulfill the wetlands permitting mitigation requirements, it is necessary to purchase 1.8 LDENR-BLH acres from Cow Branch Coastal Mitigation Bank Amendment One (CBCMBA1) and 2.6 BLH acres from Pontchartrain Basin Umbrella Mitigation Bank (PBUMB) for a total amount of $175,800.00; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve said Agreement to comply with the requirements of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Permit No. MVN-2021-00822-EPP and Louisiana Department of Energy and Natural Resources Coastal Use Permit Application Number P20210703.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Wetlands Mitigation Agreement by and between St. Charles Parish and Delta Land Services, L.L.C., for wetlands mitigation for the Montz Pump Station (Parish Project No. P210301), Montz Pump Station No. 2 (Parish Project No. P210806) and drainage improvements along Highway 61 permitted under the Montz Pump Stations and Drainage Improvement Project in the amount of $175,800.00 is hereby approved.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Wetlands Mitigation Agreement on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted the ______ day of ____________, 2024, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
