IN   RECOGNITION

 

WHEREAS,                     Landon Marceaux is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Destrehan, Louisiana with his parents Joey and Michelle Marceaux and brother Tyler; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     Landon, a Senior at Destrehan High School, is a right-handed pitcher for the Wildcats and is listed among the very best prep baseball players in the country; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     Landon was invited to participate in USA Baseball’s Tournament of Stars, an all-star tournament presented by Major League Baseball held June 27-July 1, 2017, at the National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.  The tournament features 80 of the top 18U players in the country competing to be selected for the 18U National Team Trials roster; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     Landon was one of 40 players selected to the 18U National Team Trials roster.  From August 19-24, 2017, he competed in a six-day trial process in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to earn a spot on the final 20-man Team USA roster; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     on Thursday, August 24, 2017, Landon was selected to the 2017 USA Baseball 18U National Team.  Team USA competed in the 2017 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) 18U Baseball World Cup in Thunder Bay, Canada, from September 1-10, 2017, where Team USA won their fourth consecutive gold medal in the U18 Baseball World Cup; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     before beginning his sophomore year at Destrehan, Landon had verbally committed to play at Louisiana State University (LSU).

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
