Title
A resolution in support of Councilwoman Wendy Benedetto for Region II Member of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana.
Body
WHEREAS, Wendy Benedetto is currently Councilwoman-At-Large, Division A in St. Charles Parish. She also served as Councilwoman for District III from 2008-2016; and,
WHEREAS, Wendy Benedetto is currently the Vice Chairman of the St. Charles Parish Council. She also served as Vice Chairman of the St. Charles Parish Council in 2011 and 2018; and,
WHEREAS, Wendy Benedetto served as Council Chairman of the St. Charles Parish Council in 2013 and 2016; and,
WHEREAS, Wendy Benedetto is currently the Chairman of the Legislative Committee in St. Charles Parish. She has served as the Chairman of the Legislative Committee since 2016; and,
WHEREAS, Wendy Benedetto is an active member of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana where she is Vice Chairman of the Community Development Committee; and,
WHEREAS, Wendy Benedetto is an active member of the National Association of County Officials where she is a member of the Community, Economic, and Workforce Development Policy Steering Committee; and,
WHEREAS Wendy Benedetto is a member of NACo’s Next Generation; and,
WHEREAS, Wendy Benedetto is a past Ex-Officio of the St. Charles Parish Hospital Service District No. 1; and,
WHEREAS, Wendy Benedetto is a board member on the South Central Planning & Development Commission and the Regional Planning Commission; and,
WHEREAS, Wendy Benedetto is active in civic, community, and non-profit programs in St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, Wendy Benedetto has garnered the support of the St. Charles Parish Council, by resolution, as a Region Member of the Police Jury Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby support Councilwoman Wendy Benedetto in her effort to become a Region II Member of the Police Jury Association of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Police Jury Association of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution also be forwarded to all Region II Parishes.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the resolution was declared adopted this day of , 2019, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
