Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Contract for Engineering Services with Shread-Kuyrkendall & Associates, Inc. for necessary professional engineering services associated with the FY 2000-FY 2001 LCDBG Program For Water System Distribution System Improvements Along LA 18 From Luling to Taft-Project I and Project II.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council desires to have the following described project undertaken:
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Engineering services for the FY 2000-FY 2001 LCDBG Program For Water System Distribution System Improvements Along LA 18 From Luling to Taft-Project I and Project II.  The service will include but will not be limited to serving as Owner's professional engineering representative for the Project, providing professional engineering consultation and advice, and furnishing customary civil, surveying, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering services and construction engineering and inspection; and,
WHEREAS, on November 22, 1999, the St. Charles Parish Qualifications Based Selection Review Panel selected the firm of Shread-Kuyrkendall & Associates, Inc. to provide engineering services for said project; and,
WHEREAS, Shread-Kuyrkendall & Associates, Inc. will assist St. Charles Parish in the preparation of the Louisiana Community Development Block Grant application; and,
WHEREAS, the contract for the FY 2000-FY 2001 LCDBG Program For Water System Distribution System Improvements Along LA 18 From Luling to Taft - Project I and Project II is contingent upon approval by the State Office of Community Development of the block grant application; and,
WHEREAS, the probable project cost is as follows:

      Construction Resident Inspection Services      $20,000            $20,000

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.  That the contract for Engineering Services between Shread-Kuyrkendall & Associates, Inc. and the Parish of St. Charles is hereby approved.
SECTION II.  That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles.
