Title

An ordinance authorizing the Parish President to execute a contract with South Central Planning and Development Commission to conduct a Parish-wide Comprehensive Traffic Count.

Body

WHEREAS,      the St. Charles Parish Council has budgeted for Fiscal Year 2002 a Master Transportation Plan for St. Charles Parish; and,

WHEREAS,       a Comprehensive Traffic Count program is a necessary component of the Master Transportation Plan as it creates meaningful models for the planning of future development and assessing the impacts of new development; and,

WHEREAS,      a Comprehensive Traffic Count program is the most labor intensive component and expensive portion of a Master Transportation; and,

WHEREAS,      South Central Planning and Development Commission has proposed to conduct the Comprehensive Traffic Count program, using the similar traffic counting equipment, and the same Scope of Services at a significantly lower cost than the typical for such programs; and,

WHEREAS,      St. Charles Parish will be provided with the most comprehensive traffic count data ever performed on roadways located throughout the parish.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION I.  That the Parish President is authorized to execute a contract with South Central Planning and Development Commission to conduct a parish-wide Comprehensive Traffic Count.
