Title
An ordinance to amend Section 10 - 22 of the St. Charles Parish Code to reduce the Service Charge for Solid Waste Collection Services.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Ordinance No. 10-12-__ on December 20, 2010 approving a contract with SDT Waste & Debris Services, LLC for Solid Waste Collection Services in the amount of $9.74 per unit per month effective March 1, 2011; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to adjust the monthly service charge for Solid Waste Collection Services to reduce the current charge by $2.25 from $11.99 per unit per month to $9.74 per unit per month; and,
WHEREAS, said change will result in a reduction of the total monthly service charge from $18.39 per unit per month to $16.14 per unit per month effective March 1, 2011(including the .10 billing fee); and
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Code, Chapter 10, Article II, Section 10-22 (a) is hereby amended by deleting the first sentence of said section (a) ( leaving the remaining two sentences as first written) and replacing it with the following:
(a) Levied. That a monthly Service Charge of sixteen dollars and four cents ($16.04) is hereby established and levied for each Residential and Commercial Unit within the Parish of St. Charles, as defined in the Parish's current Solid Waste Collection Program, effective March 1, 2011.
SECTION II. That the total monthly Service Charge to each unit established herein shall be sixteen dollars and twenty fourteen cents ($16.14) per month, including the ten cents (.10) per month Waterworks billing fee.

And the ordinance was declared adopted this day of , 2010, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
