Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of the Parish President to execute an Act of Sale from Della Gisclair, Diane Costa Carter and Dolores Hamilton for the purchase of property located at 151 American Bank Lane, No. 153, and further described in the attached Agreement to Purchase and Sell Property as Lot 3-PM, Hahnville, Louisiana, in the amount of $243,750.00.
Body
WHEREAS, the acquisition of additional immovable property located adjacent to or in close proximity to the existing government facilities would facilitate the expansion and development of a contiguous and cohesive government campus; and,
WHEREAS, the acquisition of the property is intended to promote the efficient and orderly development, use and administration of governmental facilities and to further the public purposes and governmental functions of St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, the acquisition of the property is necessary and desirable to expand and create a continuous and integrated governmental campus and is determined to be in the best public and governmental interest of the citizens of St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, Della Gisclair, Diane Costa Carter and Dolores Hamilton, the owners of the property, initially listed said property for sale at the price of $250,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, an appraisal dated and valued as of May 1, 2026, prepared by A.R.E. Real Estate Services, valued the property at $244,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, after negotiations, the parties have agreed on a purchase and sale price of $243,750.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish President has executed a Purchase Agreement regarding the purchase of this property for the sum of $243,750.00, conditioned upon approval of the St. Charles Parish Council.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. The St. Charles Parish Council hereby approves the attached agreement to Purchase and Sell Property which property is located at 151 American Bank Lane, No. 153, and further described in the attached Agreement to Purchase and Sell Property as Lot 3-PM, Hahnville, Louisiana, in the amount of $243,750.00.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is further hereby authorized to execute an Act of Sale and any and all documents deemed necessary to purchase, 151 American Bank Lane, No. 153, and further described in the attached Agreement to Purchase and Sell Property as Lot 3-PM Hahnville, Louisiana.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this ____ day of _____________, 2026, to become effective (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
