In Recognition: Mrs. Gayle Robert

IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gayle Robert is a teacher at New Sarpy Elementary School; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Robert has taken it upon herself to go above and beyond the call of duty in inspiring her students in the study of ecology; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Robert's First Grade Students study the LaBranche Wetlands each year, and;
WHEREAS, Mrs. Robert arranges for guest speakers throughout the school year to continually reinforce the importance of wetland issues and protection, and;
WHEREAS, each year for the past ten years her students have taken of their time to sell refreshments to fellow students, at recess, near the end of the school year, to raise money for Project PAL (Protecting A Living Legacy), and;
WHEREAS, Project PAL is an ongoing, annual planting project carried out by St. Charles Parish, the Natural Resource Conservation Service and Local Industry in the LaBranche Wetlands, and;
WHEREAS, Mrs. Robert's students have raised nearly two thousand dollars toward Project PAL, and;
WHEREAS, Mrs. Robert and her students intend to keep this effort up for many years to come.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY COMMEND MRS. GAYLE ROBERT AND HER STUDENTS FOR THE LEADERSHIP AND DEDICATION THEY HAVE SHOWN IN PROTECTING AND PRESERVING OUR ENVIRONMENT.
