Title
An ordinance to amend the Code of Ordinances, Parish of St. Charles, Chapter 14 Miscellaneous Provisions and Offenses, by amending Section 14-2 Curfew for minors.
Body
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Chapter 14 Miscellaneous Provisions and Offenses, Section 14-2. Curfew for minors be amended as follows with new text underlined and deleted text in strikethrough:
Sec. 14-2. - Curfew for minors.
(a) Any minor under the age of seventeen (17) eighteen (18) years is prohibited to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, drive any motor vehicle or play in or upon public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, playgrounds, wharves, docks, or other public grounds, public places and public buildings, bus stations, places of amusement and entertainment, vacant lots, or other unsupervised placed between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. in the parish; provided, however, the provisions of this subsection do not apply to a minor accompanied by his parent, guardian or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor, or the minor is upon an emergency errand or legitimate purpose directed by his parent, guardian, or other adult person having the care and custody of the minor. Each violation of the provisions of this subsection shall constitute a separate violation.
(b) It shall be unlawful for the parent, guardian, or other person having the care and custody of a minor under the age of seventeen (17) eighteen (18) years to permit such minor to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, drive any motor vehicle or play in or upon public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, playgrounds, wharves, docks, or other public grounds, public places, and public buildings, but stations, places of amusement and entertainment, vacant lots, or other unsupervised places between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. in the pari...
