Title
An ordinance to amend the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix C, Section IV. E. 3. a. to require that subdivision developers provide replacement streetlights standards and fixtures if streetlights within subdivision are of custom, specialized, or otherwise of atypical design.
Body
WHEREAS, the Subdivision Ordinance allows a choice of streetlight styles and designs; and,
WHEREAS, streetlights that are of custom, specialized, or otherwise of atypical design can be difficult to replace; and,
WHEREAS, protection of the public welfare is assured by requiring a ready supply of replacements of streetlights that become inoperable, or damaged beyond practical use or repair; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the St. Charles Parish Council to require a ready supply of additional streetlight standards and fixtures to be provided for immediate replacement of custom, specialized or otherwise atypical designed streetlights within subdivisions that become inoperable or damaged beyond practical use or repair.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix C, Section IV. E. 3. a. be amended as follows:
a. All street light fixtures, installed by developers within the Parish of St. Charles shall be the following:
Westinghouse mercury lamps RMA 10 including 890D242 G-16 Head, 890D055 G-15 Reflector assembly, 175 watt, 240 plus 5% volts H39 22 kc/w lamp and Fisher Pierce Series
2. 2. 2. 6660 Photocell or approved equal.
2. If streetlight standards and fixtures are to be of custom, specialized, or otherwise atypical design, additional streetlight standards and fixtures of like style shall be provided to St. Charles Parish for replacement of streetlights in the event that installed streetlights become inoperable or damaged beyond practical use or repair.
