A resolution supporting SB 236, SB 567, SB 341, SB 75, and SB 573 as the bills would positively affect St. Charles Parish operations, revenue, and authority to perform its functions as a local governing authority and support our multimodal reliant economy.

WHEREAS, SB 236 is a constitutional amendment that would allow for additional revenue to be dispersed to the Parishes where severance tax is collected on the natural resources extracted from the ground; and,
WHEREAS, SB 567 changes the date from June 1 of each year to September 1 of each year for information to be supplied to the assessor and legislative auditor by tax recipient agencies in St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, SB 341 provides for certain limitations relative to actions or rules requiring modification of certain existing community water systems; and,
WHEREAS, SB 75 provides relative to the minimum disinfectant residual levels of free or total chlorine throughout public and private water systems; and,
WHEREAS, SB 573 provides that the office of Multimodal Commerce be established within the Department of Economic Development to support the multimodal transportation, aviation, railroad, public mass transit, public transportation, and water transportation systems; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council, acting as the governing authority of the Parish of St. Charles desires to support SB 236, SB 567, SB 341, SB 75, and SB 573 as the Council believes it to be in the best interest of the people of St. Charles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby support SB 236, SB 567, SB 341, SB 75, and SB 573 as the bills would positively affect St. Charles Parish operations, revenue, and authority to perform its functions as a local governing authority and support our multimodal reliant economy and request the P...
