Title
A resolution to declare the St. Charles Parish Council's and Parish President's support of and solidarity with all law enforcement personnel across these great United States, and to recognize and honor all of the men and women who currently serve or who have served as law enforcement officers, and in particular those who serve or have served in St. Charles Parish and the State of Louisiana.
Body
WHEREAS, recent events throughout our nation have unfortunately demonstrated a reckless disregard for the lives and safety of law enforcement officers by many, including some public officials and other high profile individuals, who have cavalierly aligned themselves with community agitators and community activist who seek to divide many of those in our communities and our nation; and,
WHEREAS, even worse, much of the news media along with certain public officials and other public figures have perpetuated a number of false narratives that appear to have made law enforcement officers direct targets of reprisals and which may have resulted in the indiscriminate assassination of a number of law enforcement officers throughout the country in recent weeks; and,
WHEREAS, from combating terror, staking out criminals, to patrolling our highways and responding to those in need, law enforcement officers maintain stability in our community and their presence promotes peace and order resulting in more safe and secure communities and a safer nation; and,
