Title
A resolution requesting that the Administration take immediate action to expedite the installation of culvert extensions in the Mozella/Paradis Area.
Body
WHEREAS, on Sunday, November 15, 1998, a gasoline truck overturned in the Mozella/Paradis area causing a major traffic jam and causing the roads to be closed for hours; and,
WHEREAS, citizens of the area were forced to evacuate due to the impending danger; and,
WHEREAS, work requests have been submitted requesting the installation of culvert extensions to widen the turn lane at intersections of cross-streets with Old Spanish Trail namely 2nd & 3rd Streets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request that the Administration take immediate action to expedite the installation of culvert extensions in the Mozella/Paradis Area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution shall be forwarded to Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, Representative Gary Smith, and The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development requesting their assistance in this regard.
