IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Matthew Finstad is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Luling, Louisiana with his parents Peter and Nancy Finstad and brother Joshua; and,
WHEREAS,      Matthew graduated from Hahnville High School on May 18, 2007; and,
WHEREAS,      Matthew has been involved in many school and community organizations.  He was a member of Beta Club, Science Olympiad, Air Force JROTC, Louisiana Engineering Advancement Program, JROTC varsity Drill Team and Color Guard, he has done volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity, Luling United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church of Luling, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and the St. Charles Women's Club; and,
WHEREAS,      Matthew's academic achievements at Hahnville High School include being named to the Principal's List, American Legion Boys State Delegate, Air Force JROTC Outstanding Cadet, and has also won awards in the School, Parish, and Regional Science and Social Studies Fairs; and,
WHEREAS,      Matthew plans to attend the University of Louisiana in Lafayette to study Business; and,
WHEREAS,      Matthew has been named the St. Charles Rotary Club's 2007 West Bank Young Person of the Year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
MATTHEW FINSTAD
