ORDINANCE NO.
Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of an agreement with the Department of Transportation and Development for the East Bank Bike and Pedestrian Path Project-Phase III, State Project No. 744-45-0008, Federal Aid Project No. ENH-4503 (513).
Body
WHEREAS, by letter dated October 6, 2003 from Dr. Kam K. Movassaghi, Secretary for the Department of Transportation and Development, the Parish was advised that the East Bank Bike and Pedestrian Path Project-Phase III had been accepted into the 2003 Enhancement Program in the amount of $171,000.00 assuming a 95% federal and 5% sponsor match arrangement; and,
WHEREAS, on July 21, 2003 the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Resolution No. 5109 in support of the project; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation has prepared an agreement to provide for the funding of the project which the Parish Council desires to approve.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Agreement by and between the Department of Transportation and Development and the Parish of St. Charles for State Project No. 744-45-0008, Federal Aid Project No. ENH-4503 (513), St. Charles Parish Bike and Pedestrian Path Project-Phase III is hereby approved.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles.

And the ordinance was declared adopted this day of , 2004, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
