Title
An Ordinance to establish an annual deadline of May 15 for the receipt of audited financial statements for component units of the Parish of St. Charles.
Body
WHEREAS, The St. Charles Parish Council is the governing authority for the Parish of St. Charles; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish is required by Louisiana Revised Statutes 24:514 to file an audited financial report prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and include such disclosures required by state and federal regulations; and,
WHEREAS, The Parish is required by generally accepted accounting principles to include the audited financial information of its component units in its audited comprehensive annual financial report; and,
WHEREAS, The Parish desires to comply with the Legislative Auditors requirement of timely filing by filing on or before June 30 each year; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish's current component units include St. Charles Parish Gravity Drainage District No. 2, Waterworks District No. 1, Consolidated Waterworks and Wastewater District No. 1, St. Charles Parish Communications District, St. Charles Parish Library Service District No. 1, Sunset Drainage District of St. Charles Parish and St. Charles Parish Hospital Service District.
THE ST CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS: That all component units of the Parish of St. Charles, as identified by the Parish in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, which are not audited as a part of the Parish's audit engagement provide audited financial statements with complete disclosures to the St. Charles Parish Finance Department by May 15 each year.
