Proclamation: "Older Americans Month"

P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish includes countless older Americans who enrich and strengthen our community; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish is committed to engaging and supporting older adults, their families, and caregivers; and,
WHEREAS, we acknowledge the importance of taking part in activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being - no matter your age; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish can enrich the lives of individuals of every age by promoting home and community based services that support independent living, involving older adults in community planning, events, and other activities, and providing opportunities for older adults to work, volunteer, learn, lead, and mentor; and,
WHEREAS, the 2018 theme for Older Americans Month is "Engage at Every Age".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF MAY, 2018, AS
"OLDER AMERICANS MONTH"
IN ST. CHARLES PARISH AND URGE EVERY RESIDENT TO TAKE TIME THIS MONTH TO RECOGNIZE OLDER ADULTS AND THE PEOPLE WHO SERVE THEM AS VITAL PARTS OF OUR COMMUNITY.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM FRIDAY, MAY 25, 2018, AS
"OLDER AMERICANS MONTH CELEBRATION DAY"
AND ENCOURAGE ALL CITIZENS IN THE PARISH TO JOIN IN THE FESTIVITIES FROM 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM AT 626 PINE STREET IN HAHNVILLE.
