P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Association for Family and Community Education Council is a Parishwide organization whose goals are to further strengthen, develop, coordinate and extend adult education to improve the quality of life in our Parish; and,
WHEREAS, the objective of the individual Parish Family and Community Education is to act as the advisory board to the Family and Community Education Clubs in the Parish for the purpose of carrying out the Parish objectives, promoting all interest - material, educational, social and economic, which have a bearing on the welfare and betterment of the home and community; and,
WHEREAS, F. C. E. homemaker clubs provide opportunities for homemakers/volunteers participating in extension home economics and other education programs to pool their judgement and experience for the progressive improvement of home and community life; and,
WHEREAS, the Family and Community Education Clubs' members contribute invaluable assistance conducting worthwhile civic and charitable activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, IN RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION OF THIS OUTSTANDING ORGANIZATION, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 14 - 18, 2002, AS
"FAMILY AND COMMUNITY WEEK"
