Title
A resolution notifying the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality that the St. Charles Parish Department of Wastewater has reviewed the Municipal Water Pollution Prevention Environmental Audit Report for WP0814 - Paradis Wastewater Treatment Plant, and set forth the required action.
Body
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality Municipal Water Pollution Prevention Environmental Audit Report Program is designed to encourage municipal wastewater facilities to provide compliance maintenance prior to becoming noncompliant; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to submit the Environmental Audit to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality along with this resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby notify the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality that the St. Charles Parish Department of Wastewater has reviewed the Municipal Water Pollution Prevention Environmental Audit Report (copy attached) and sets forth the following action necessary to maintain permit requirements contained in for WP0814 - Paradis Wastewater Treatment Plant:
a. Smoke testing, monitoring, and continuous maintenance and upgrading of existing sewer collection lines. The Wastewater Department is using its camera equipment to thoroughly inspect the gravity lines in the system.
b. Currently undergoing an aggressive preventive maintenance program. This program includes rehabilitation of lift station control panels and a comprehensive lift station inspection form.
c. The St. Charles Parish Wastewater Regionalization Program, which involves the construction of two (2) regional treatment plants, one each on the East Bank and the West Bank of St. Charles Parish, is underway.
