Title
An Ordinance to amend the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances of 1981, Appendix A, Section III.58.7 to allow for the placement of Recreational Vehicles (RV) larger than 36' in RV Parks.
Body
WHEREAS, the definition of Recreational Vehicles regulates what type of structure may be place in RV Parks; and,
WHEREAS, when the ordinance was written it only allowed for RV's below 36' in length; and,
WHEREAS, this definition has become outdated with the sales and distribution of larger RV's.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the St. Charles Parish Code of Ordinances, Appendix A, Section III.58.7. is amended as follows:
58.7. Recreational vehicle (RV): A structure or vehicle used as a temporary dwelling by vacationers, transient workers, etc., designed to be towed by a vehicle or self-propelled, and designed to be licensed as a vehicle not to exceed thirty-six (36) feet in length and eight (8) feet in width. The structure may be used without connections to public utilities; provided however that self-contained, sanitary, water and electrical systems are installed. Additionally, the structure may be occupied in the R-1M District without the requirement to screen the chassis of the structure or vehicle.
