IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, on July 23, 2012, Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, saw fit to call from amongst us one of his most worthy servants, Stanley Francis Keller, III; and,
WHEREAS, Stanley Keller, the son of the late Erna Mae and Stanley Keller, Jr., was a native of Hahnville, Louisiana, and lifelong resident of St. Charles Parish. He was dedicated to his family; his loving wife Cecile L. Keller, his children Carol Matis, Stanley Keller, IV, Joy Anders, Dwayne, and Chad Keller, and 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 7 step-grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, Stanley Keller was a dedicated Public Servant. He joined the St. Charles Parish Red Cross as a volunteer in 1987, while employed by the St. Charles Parish School Board. It was during this time that he helped create the Disaster Action Team; a group of volunteers with The American Red Cross who responds to any disaster in St. Charles Parish around the clock. Whether a major event or a single family house fire, Stanley Keller and his team could be counted on to provide immediate emergency needs to Parish residents any time of day; and,
WHEREAS, through the years, Stanley Keller's actions provided the motivation for his wife and family members to become involved in volunteering and serving others; continuing his legacy. As a key member of a team, he worked hands-on with the St. Charles Parish Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness; and,
WHEREAS, Stanley Keller was the Disaster Action Team's Chairman for many years. Later, he became the Lead Disaster Assessment Agent with the Red Cross for all of Southeast Louisiana and he would often be called upon to help nationally. In 2009, he was hired by The American Red Cross as the Disaster Coordinator for the River Region.
